This guide includes the practical house details you may need, plus favorite restaurants, museums, neighborhoods, and local history in Royal Oak and Detroit.
I live only about one mile from downtown Royal Oak, so shopping, dining, entertainment, and local events are just a few minutes away.
House Information
A few simple details to help your stay feel easy and comfortable.
Check-in & Check-out
Check-in: After 3:00 PM. Timing is flexible, so please message me if you need an earlier arrival.
Check-out: Before 12:00 PM noon. A later checkout may be possible, but please let me know as soon as you can.
If the combination lock gives you trouble, message me and I’ll gladly walk you through it.

You’re welcome to use all shared areas except my upstairs bedroom.

Doors & Cats
- Please never leave an exterior door open. My cats are indoor-only, aside from their enclosed catio.
- Please keep the basement door closed.
- Pull the front door firmly shut. The smart lock engages automatically after about five minutes.
Comfort & Supplies
Extra bedding, toilet paper, shampoo, conditioner, and other supplies are in the closet beside the Airbnb room. Please use whatever you need.
Adjust the air conditioner to a comfortable temperature. The bathroom heater helps reduce condensation. If you do not use it, please leave the bathroom door open after showering.
Smoking, Vaping & 420
- The house is 420-friendly.
- Please do not smoke blunts indoors. Outside is welcome.
- Please do not smoke cigarettes or tobacco products indoors.
- Vaping is fine indoors.
Pets & Quiet Hours
Please let me know before booking if you plan to bring a pet, including a service animal.
Please keep television, music, and other noise low after 12:00 AM midnight.
Check-out Checklist
- Leave the bedroom key and front-door key inside.
- No need to make the bed.
- Double-check for belongings.
- Trash may be left inside. Large items can go in the outdoor container.

Local Legend: Vinsetta Garage
Vinsetta Garage began as an automobile repair garage on Woodward Avenue and later became a restaurant while preserving much of its vintage automotive character.
It is known for burgers, pizza, Union Mac & Cheese, its connection to Woodward car culture, and its popularity during the Woodward Dream Cruise. Eminem is known to frequent the restaurant.

Located at 2131 Woodward Avenue across from Comerica Park, Union Assembly is a large multilevel restaurant with a popular terrace and downtown views.
It serves American comfort food, including Union Mac & Cheese, Detroit-style pizza, and smash burgers. It sits in the Little Caesars World Headquarters building beside Mom’s Spaghetti.

Historic Neighborhoods
Boston-Edison: Known for grand historic estates and its association with Motown founder Berry Gordy.
Palmer Woods: A tree-lined historic neighborhood developed in the early 1900s. Notable residents have included filmmaker Michael Moore and Eminem during his childhood.
Russell Woods: A historic center of Detroit’s Black professional community. Members of The Supremes owned homes in the area.
Bagley, Martin Park & North End: Neighborhoods connected with Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, David Ruffin, Eddie Kendricks, Martha Reeves, Diana Ross, and Smokey Robinson.
Motown History
Begin at the Motown Museum, then explore the Detroit neighborhoods where Motown artists, musicians, and executives lived. Please admire private homes respectfully from public streets.
